Chenin Blanc from Chateau de Bonnezeaux 'Frimas' 2019

Chenin Blanc from Chateau de Bonnezeaux

An excellent Chenin Blanc from a producer I have not had in a while. Bonnezeaux was brought back to life by the younger generation about 10 years ago to make dry wines instead of leasing the vines which started in the early 80s. Before that they made dessert style Coteaux du Layon wines made with botrytized grapes.

Golden hued. A med+ nose of sweet and tertiary citrus, crushed shells, white floral blossom, and wooly lanolin notes. The palate is med/med+ bodied, a touch of oily viscosity adds body, med acidity keeps it bright still. The palate is generous with good density, the flavors fan out on the palate into a long finish.
