An absolutely amazing example of a Chianti!

Keep in mind these grapes were grown super close to where the grapes for Tignanello are grown. Same producer, same vineyard, same hillside, so I was already expecting very high quality.

The nose is full of red fruit( sour cherries, raspberry jam, blackberries), herbs most noticeably thyme, same and oregano. Subtle hints of mushrooms, cocoa, soil, slight earthiness and hints of suede and cigars.

Medium high tannins, medium viscosity and higher than I expected acidity. Medium body.

Absolutely delicious wine, especially considering the price, I paid $24. The wine is very complicated yet very gentle and intentional. I can see this being even better in a year or two.
