As I was out shopping for champagne for NYE, I figured, instead of dropping USD$300+ on one really good bottle of champagne (e.g. Krug), why not have a little fun, spend the same on 2 bottles, and have a little comparison tasting from one of my favorite producers. I haven’t had either of these champagnes from Bollinger. I have had the RD (a much higher price point than these 2) and I drink the special cuvee all the time.

For those who’ve had these 2 champagnes:

1. Will there be a noticeable difference between the 100% Pinot from a single cru (PN) vs the Pinot

/Chard blend (Grande Année). If so, what stands out the most;

1. Which is your favorite of the two; and

2. Did I make the right decision or should I have just went with the RD or Krug?
