2012 Dom Perignon vs Krug 172eme

2012 Dom Perignon vs Krug 172eme

Dom:

Very fresh at the beginning with unexpected oxidative notes. More bubbly than Krug at opening, little more pale in color. Notes of citrus, white flowers, white pepper, stone fruit. Precise and mineral driven. Rich. I tasted the same vintage 2 years ago and must admit I like it much better now. 94 points

Krug:

Muted nose at the beginning. Golden color, fine bubbles, lemon biscuit, honeycrisp apple, toasted almond, sourdough, good acidity and longer finish than Dom. Rich, creamy and opulent. 95 points

I have tasted both before 2 years ago (12 Dom and 169 Krug) and had Krug rated at least 3 points higher. I don't know if this is a bottle variation, or more age on the Dom (12 vintage vs 172eme based on 2016) but i did not expect such a close rating.
