L-Track install but much confusio

L-Track install but much confusio

Sooo I want to install L-Tracks in my Van. From my understanding I should put rivet nuts directly into the metal of the van.

But... and that's the big confusing but:

When I bolt the L-Tracks directly onto the Van walls the isolation and the added woodpanels will be way higher then the L-tracks?

Do I bolt a metal square tube on the wall and then bolt the L-Tracks on it, so I can make it flush with the wood?

Can there be wood between the square tube and the L-Tracks?

Is the square tube even the right way to install it?

Help is very much appreciated ????
