You can use him in your game if you want! https://penusbmic.itch.io/

I love puffins so much, this lil guy looks up to no good!

Hello all, the image isn’t mine but im using it as an attachment for the post. This might be a stupid question, but I’m new to pixel art and trying to make my own game. I wanted to make the dimensions of my character sprites 64px by 32px, instead of the very common 16px by 32px. I realize I would probably have to make everything else larger and more detailed, but would this possible/feasible to do for a top down pixel game?

This was so much harder than I thought... CC would be highly appreciated!!

My first human character in pixel art. This was challenging and time consuming. I hope this doesn't need an NSFW tag. Comments about possible improvements are welcome.

Shitty old attempt at doing a really stylized 90s pixelart game. This is the sheet of the main plane you drive in the game. Improved a lot since then so now I really consider this a little obsolete. I also have a paletted version of this in purple green and blue but hell knows where I've put that. I really like the way the dithering worked in this piece, as well as the reduced color palette. But I learned so much more in art in general since then.

I would appreciate some criticism for improvement, I would like to get other artists opinions.

We are currently refining the backstory and character portraits for our multiplayer text-adventure "Tales". This one is hard to decide and with a tie in our teams poll, I guess it's your turn...

Character description: "The Ironfather is a kind-hearted homunculus who vowed never to harm anyone. He's incredibly skilled and caring, showing affection to both living beings and inanimate objects. He has a deep desire to nurture, creating small humanoid machines as his "children." These chaotic creations, while not as lively as him, are loved and cared for as if they were real kids. Despite often feeling overwhelmed, the Ironfather's dedication and warmth remain unwavering."

A or B?

I guess most of us, almost all do pixelart for the games industry. So the question everyone is probably asking themselves is

How many people are actually willing to pay for a great pixelart game over other highly acclaimed titles?

(Example of classical pixel art - not by me)

I'm genuinely wandering, and I guess most people here are having the exact same question.

After working in arts for a while(pixel art is also a great form of art), especially in this case, you've probably noticed that art is a lot about the symbolism and the way a certain style is percieved and affects human emotions (if you haven't reached this far in pixelart, be sure you'll someday get up here, just train and study and practice a lot).

So the question is. How many people really are there willing to buy a game made in pixelart over some great acclaimed triple A or such, title. How many people are willing to pay for this great art in a game?

I made the most precious boi, if you know, you know.

Made this little guy as a simple enemy for a retro style action platformer I'm making in Godot. I don't share my stuff often, but I'm happy with how he came out. Starting to feel decent about pixel art since starting to learn a couple years ago ????

Tomas learned to sit down!

I made this frog sprite a few days ago. I was wondering if I could get any advice on how to increase my skill levels, since I would like to continue with this art style.

The clouds don't look soft enough but I want to move on..

As the title says, this is my first go at this. Any critique would be nice.

Has been ages since the last time I posted here.
